England Regains Ashes – Australia Vs England 4th Test Match: England has completed the redemption after 599 days by thrashing their rival opponents, Australia by Massive 78 Runs and an innings at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. England has regained the Ashes by defeating the Ashes holders in the Fourth Ashes Test Match 2015 as England took an unbeatable lead of 3-1 in the Five Test Match Series. England won the 1st, 3rd and the 4th test match while Australia could only manage to win the 2nd test match at the Lords.
Ashes 2015 4th Test Match Report:
Australia surrendered to the English pace attack as they bowed to England for their one of the lowest total of 60 Runs in the First innings which was majorly rattled by Stuart Broad who took his career best figures of 8 wickets for 15 Runs. England responded quite well with a century from supposedly next world number 1, Joe Root who scored 124 Runs and was well supported by Johny Bairstow’s 74 as England managed to score 391-9 with Mitchell Starc lone effort from Aussies quick’s of 6 wickets.
Australia started their second innings with some resilience as they scored 112 for no harms to the wickets table but this was the time when Ben Stokes did Andrew Flintoff (2005) and he quickly picked the crucial wickets of Chris Rogers and David Warner after they scored their half Centuries. Australia could not resist much and they were on their knees by the end of day 2 with the score of 241-7. Australian low order batsmen didn’t trouble the English Team and gave their wickets with ease at the Morning of Day 3 and hence England won the match by 78 Runs. The win also confirmed their Ashes Series Win.
The Ashes handover to England also led to retirement of Aussie Captain as he announced that Oval test would be his Swan Song from the international cricket and he came to this decision because of his poor performance in last 12 Months. Michael Clarke has also retired from ODI Cricket after holding the World Cup trophy this year at his Home.
