Australia Looks to Seal the Series after 1st Match Win
Australia defeated BlackCaps quite comprehensibly at Brisbane by 208 runs which was completely dominated by Aussie batters especially David Warner with 2 tons, Joe Burns and Usman Khawaja whereas Aussie bowlers did their job to take 20 kiwi wickets. All the Mitches (Johnson, Starc and Marsh) were impressive and so was Josh Hazlewood.
New Zealand batsmen were quite mediocre in their show though Kane Williamson’s knocks (140 and 59) were top notch which was supported by Kiwi skipper’s 80 in second innings. None other batter of Black Caps spent much time at the crease whereas bowling department led by Trent Boult and Tim Southee was completely off the show. Southee got injured and is not confirmed for the second test match as he didn’t bowl at all in the second innings.
Black Caps Set to Level the Score against Mighty Aussies
New Zealand need to give a top notch performance to defeat this Australian side and a lot of it would depend on Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, McCullum and Bowling pair of Boult and Southee. Kiwis need to step up as a team to emulate Aussies and the likes of Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, BJ Watling and Mark Craig have to support their Key Players to get the desired result. Southee is not confirmed for the second match at Perth which might bring Mat Henry in the squad. Kiwis may choose to go with four fast bowlers and a spinner (Mark Craig) on the bouncy and fast pitch of WACA.
