Engineering Student Found Dead in Amity University

Udit Shankar Singh, 19 year old student of Amity University, Noida, found dead on the further side of hostel. The incident took place around 2 pm, Thursday noon. He fell from 4th floor of the hostel and first witnessed by some passerby, who also told that he had some head injury and loss of blood. As soon as college staff got to know about the incident, they rushed him to the Kailash Hospital, where he was declared โ€œbrought Deadโ€.

He was 1st year student pursuing B-Tech (EEE) from the university. He was appearing in end term examination and had exam on Thursday in which he didnโ€™t appear. He lived in hostel no. 3 of the university campus. Last night, he met with some of his friends who told he was positive and didnโ€™t appear to be downhearted. โ€œHe had scored 87% marks in Class 10th and 74% in Class 12th and was very regular with his classes. Not even a single thing was against him inside the universityโ€ said Amity University Vice-Present (communications), Savita Mehta.

University providing full support to police and family also constituted a high level investigation committee, consisting of 5 members and still in progress. The reason behind the death is still unknown. Police found some books and one of his shoes on the 4th floor and another found beside his body, but no suicide note has been recovered. Post-mortem is yet to be done only after that anything can be concluded.

The boy originally belonged to Bhojpur, Bihar, but currently his father is living in Dwarka area of Delhi. His father Uma Shankar Singh came to know about his sonโ€™s demise around 6 PM. He wants to donate all organ of his son, but yet nothing has been confirmed as post-mortem is yet to be conducted.

This is the 2nd death of this month in the university. Around 2 weeks ago, a 21 year old student G Sai Krishna hanged himself through ceiling of his hostel room. He was in 1st year pursuing PG Diploma in facility management.

In August, law student Sushant Rohilla, 20 years old committed suicide at his Delhi home, after he was detained from exams due to low attendance.

His entire family members, friends, college students and faculty are in shock as the boy didnโ€™t show any kind of stress and never talk about any such problem to none of his family or friends. The case is further to be investigated to find out the real cause of death.
