The West Indian and KKR’s ace spinner Sunil Narine has been cleared to bowl his off spinners and other deliveries by BCCI after successfully correcting his suspect bowling action, though he is warned to not deviate from his remodelled bowling action which is legitimate as per Law 24.3 of cricket rules. He requested for reassessment of his remodelled bowling action to BCCI’S Suspect Bowling Action Committee and hence he underwent a biomechanical test of his suspect action at Chennai’s Sri Ramachandra Arthroscopy and Sports Science Centre where he was cleared to bowl his all deliveries i.e. his off spinners, knuckle ball and straight delivery but with a final warning.
The spinner was earlier banned to bowl his ‘off-spinners’ by BCCI in ongoing IPL 8 session. He was also banned from champion’s league final in 2014 and since then he was in bowling rehabilitation phase and also couldn’t participate for his country West Indies in World cup 2015. The bowler was back for KKR in IPL 8 as KKR threatened to pull out of IPL 8 but he was again suspected for his off spinners.
As per the officials, Sunil Narine can take part in ongoing IPL season and bowl his deliveries with his remodelled bowling action and not obeying these rules would ban the bowler to take part in any BCCI organised event in future.
