Indian team has given it up to South Africa and literally they have, South Africa won the match which was possibly destined to be in Indian Team’s hand but carelessness, procrastination and of course monotonous irresponsible nature takes away the victory from team India.

Gandhi-Mandela Series
India loses to South Africa

Captain Cool Losing his ‘Karisma’ or Team Losing Unity?

Team India choose to lose against South Africa in this match which was in India’s hand after heroic performance from Rohit Sharma (150 Runs). South Africa did their bid with AB De Villiers performing as usual (104 Not Out) and then India begun to write the winning script with Rohit Sharma being the main character, but with his innings end India’s hope ended as well. Suresh Raina as usual gifted his wicket and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s tag of best finishers seems to be an old story.

MS Dhoni is clearly not the one we know, he has given us some of the biggest cricketing memories but Captain Cool’s captaincy and his Midas touch seems to have faded with time. MS Dhoni took some decisions which may not go well with Cricket fanatics. MSD’s decision of bowling changes, batting order and taking things to last over didn’t work at Kanpur.

India Gifted ODI Match to South Africa

It was first ODI match of Gandhi-Mandela Freedom Series and India was hoping to retaliate after T20 series loss but some decisions cost India this match too. Ashwin took Quinton De Kock’s wicket and he was removed from the attack instantly whereas Virat Kohli’s batting order can also be criticised. Virat has been sensational at Number 3 but promoting Rahane may have dented Virat’s confidence as he didn’t look at his best. Rahane did well but chasing 300 and scoring 60 of 80 plus balls is not helping the cause.

Suresh Raina has been in team for almost 10 years but he still plays like an amateur, his wicket throwing ability is increasing with his experience and then comes our Captain. MSD is recognised as the best finisher of the game but with his recent form and decisions, Dhoni himself has created doubts about his abilities.

Cricket is not just about losing and winning but the way team surrendered and lost the chances has to be criticised. Dhoni still can prove his worth but he needs to fight against all odds and yeah against AB De Villiers. Stay with us for more India Vs South Africa ODI Series Updates.
