The Lankan Batsman is at par with cricket greats and has scored 12,350 Runs in 133 Test Matches with the highest average of 57.71 after Sir Don Bradman. Popularly known as Sanga, Sangakkara has 38 century and 11 Double Centuries to his kitty. The number of Double Tons by Sanga is second to Sir Don Bradman and he has one game to emulate Bradmanโ€™s Record. Sangakkara holds record for highest partnership in test cricket of 624 Runs with Mahela Jayawardena against South Africa. Sangakkara proved his mettle not only in Home Conditions but also in alien conditions and his statistics are sure proving of his records. Sanga averages 55 outside Sri Lanka and 61 at his home. Add his wicket keeping to this tremendous record and he becomes of the rare gems of the games.

Sangakkara retired from T20 Cricket and ODI Cricket previously at acme of his form as he managed to win World T20 Title for his country in his last match where he Scored unbeaten 52 against India in 2014 while he ended his ODI career by being the highest run getter in World Cup 2015 and created a record of 4 Consecutive centuries in a World Cup Event, his last 5 innings in ODI cricket had 4 Tons and I wonder why he retired!
