KXIP – First Team To Be Eliminated From IPL 2015

KXIPThe great game of Cricket is often referred to as the great game of uncertainty and IPLโ€™s star studded team Kings XI Punjab epitomises this phrase. The Table toppers and runner ups of Indian Premier League in 2014 have turned out to be a disaster in 2015. The team which won many matches and multiple hearts in 2014 because of its reckless approach and immaculate strategies is at the bottom of points table with just 2 wins to its kitty after 10 IPL matches and hence it is the first team to be eliminated from the race to playoffs.

Kings XI Punjab: Stars to Ashes

Kings XI Punjab was a big win in previous IPL season as it had Brilliant George Bailey as the Leader of this entourage, The big show Glenn Maxwell, Killer David Miller, Audacious Virender Sehwag, Fiery Mitchell Johnson and the Indian cricketers like Wrindhimann Saha, Manan Vohra, Axar Patel, Sandeep Sharma and others who performed to their best level and under the Indian coach Sanjay Bangar the team looked invincible and chased 200 target with ease at times. Now the team is almost similar with the same coach and the captain but the results are in contrast. The same team is losing game after game, the same fearless batting line is falling and the bowlers are not effective.

Captain said they are all they can, of course they are but the results are still not in their favour. The main reason can be the form of Glenn Maxwell, David Miller and Virender Sehwag as these three players were the big cause for their hugely successful campaign last year but this year all these big guns have misfired. Inclusion of Indian Test opener Murali Vijay has done no good to the team and he is a sure misfit in kingโ€™s troop because of his slow approach to the game. Mitchell Johnson has been expensive and so is last yearโ€™s Baileyโ€™s trump card Axar Patel. Manan Vohra and Saha have disappointed as well.

Kings XI Punjab started as favourites and now they find themselves at the most bottom of the points table and they are only to be blamed for this disappointing performance. They need to work on their strategy and rather sell some new buys ( Murali Vijay, the test player) this year and be back to their fearless opening pair of Manan and Viru also Back Maxi and Miller. Smiling captain Bailey needs to take some serious decisions and unite the guys to have some wins and be back with bang next year. Stay in touch for more sports news.
