Quality of education has been a major concern for some year now, especially in Himachal Pradesh. Government schools of Himachal Pradesh have shown poor education standards. The results of class 10 from last 5 years were very poor as 16 government schools in the state had zero results and same situation is with class 12. Now, government is endeavouring to make situation better.
Mukhya Mantri Shikshak Samman Yojana, as the name express itself the meaning i.e., to give honour to the teachers. The scheme will be applicable to Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), headmasters and principal.
Teachers make the base of the student culturally, socially and academically, give shape to their minds for future, develop their personality too. So, to motivate teachers and to boost them for hard work, Himachal Pradesh Government announced to give reward to the teachers under this scheme.
The winter sessions of State Assembly will be held at Dharamsala from December 19 to December 23, 2016 as decided by CM Vibhadra Singh. The cabinet also acknowledged the filling of 230 posts in various departments and decided to announce large number of technical assistance under MNREGA workers with 5 years services as daily wages. Also, 9 per cent administrative charges levied on PSUs which include National Highway Authority of India, Railway and ministry.
Under this scheme, teachers who will give 100% results frequently for 5 years will be financially rewarded and extension of extra one year of service. The ministry will also open two new senior secondary schools under each Vidhan Sabha as an ‘Adarsh Vidyalay’. From the next academic session of 2017-2018 education will be subjective at under graduate level and government degree colleges.
Also, the colleges who have more than 4000 students will be given the benefits under this scheme. The reason behind such scheme is to encourage the teachers by giving financial and work life benefits. Moreover, to promote their enthusiasm towards their job, so the situation can be improved.
The aim of the scheme is to create the entrepreneurs, to induce the youth towards self employment. Under this scheme, entrepreneurs will also be provided the skills to carry their journey. It enables them to select various projects for their progress. To make it possible, government has also introduced other schemes like “Start Up”, “Innovation Project”, “New Industry Scheme”, “Bar Coding Scheme” and “Participation In International Trade Fair”. In broader sense, it could be said that the Shikshak Samman Yojana will help in increasing the level of learning and employment in India.
