Shaandar starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has recorded phenomenal opening day box office collections though the Film directed by Queen’s Vikas Bahl is lukewarm and is nowhere close to Queen in any sense.
Shaandar First Day Box Office Collection Report
The movie which was highly anticipated basically due to its star cast and director has disappointed the critics and audience though the first day box office collections haven’t been affected at all as Shahid- Alia starrer Shaandar garnered Rs 13.10 Crore on the opening day which is highest for both the actors.
Shaandar recorded 6th highest opening of the year with the collections of Rs 13.10 Crore thanks to its promotions, star cast and director’s last offering (Queen). Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer had the advantage of Dussehra holiday and hence it also enjoys a long weekend.
Shaandar Review: Average Rating (2-2.5 Stars)
The critics have rated the movie as mediocre and nowhere close to Vikas’s last release Queen or Shahid’s Haider. Though all the films are of different genre but still Shaandar lacks what Queen and Haider had i.e. innovative and effective storyline. Shaandar depends a lot on Audience response but it seems the film will not cross the 60-70 Crore mark though it would be benefitted with long weekend.
Shaandar may work well for the first 4 days but its run in the weekend would decide the fate of the movie and Shahid’s success minus Vishal Bhardwaj.
