Steve Smith New Test Captain for Australia – Cricket Australia has announced the name of their new Test Captain and Vice Captain after Michael Clarke’s decision to retire from Test Cricket. Steve Smith would be the new baggy green leader while David Warner has been assigned to play his assistant. Steve Smith and David Warner have been the vital parts of the Australian Squad and have some exceptional run in recent years. Steve Smith would also Captain Australia in shorter formats of ODI and T20 in England.
Steve Smith New Captain after Clarke’s Retirement –
Michael Clarke announced his retirement after his side’s loss to England in Ashes 2015 and it was expected that Steve Smith would be next leader for Kangaroos. Smith replaced George Bailey as ODI Captain and would captain T20 Games against England due to Aaron Finch’s unavailability. Steve Smith would be captaining Australia for Bangladesh Tour and that would be his first full time captaincy Tour. Smith led his side against India before World Cup and has been in exceptional touch with the bat though he had very Mediocre Ashes Series.
Warner as Vice Captain –
David Warner will be Vice Captain for Aussies and is expected to deliver with more responsibility with relatively new squad. David Warner would be opening for Australia in Tests as well as in ODI’s.
