US Open is all set to begin this Monday but for all the Tennis fans, the Latest Update about US Open 2015 is discouraging as one time US Open Champion, Maria Sharapova had to withdraw her name from the tournament due to leg injury and this is the second time in 3 years that Maria Sharapova couldn’t sport in the US Open Grand slam. Maria missed the US Open 2013 due to right shoulder injury.
Maria Sharapova Withdraws from US Open 2015
The U.S Tennis Association announced the withdrawal news via press release and Sharapova posted the news on her Facebook page. Sharapova last game was Wimbledon 2015 Semi Final against Serena Williams and since then she has withdrawn from various tennis tournaments like Toronto and Cincinnati Open.

“Unfortunately I will not be able to compete in this (year’s U.S.) Open. I have done everything possible to be ready but it was just not enough time,” Sharapova messaged, “To all my amazing fans, I will be back in the Asian swing in a few weeks and look forward to finishing the year healthy and strong.”
Sharapova had previously said in an interview that
“From a player’s perspective you always have to believe in the ability to go through the little things that you might have. Physically, that’s part of sports, unfortunately,” and “There’s no athlete who’s ever 100 percent healthy.”
Sharapova was seeded number 3 was US Open 2015 and would have possibly faced Serena Williams in Semis who is eyeing for her first Calendar-Year Grandslam.
