Vidya Balan chooses not to give away her National Award in this award returning spree by Film makers, writers and Scientists. Vidya made her point that, the award given to her is by Country and not by the government.
Vidya Balan won’t return her National Award
Acclaimed Bollywood Actress, Vidya Balan has cleared her stand against the Award returning run by the film makers and other prestigious award winners. The actress is not going to give up her National Award which she received for her outstanding performance in The Dirty Picture.
Vidya Balan said,
“This honour (the award) is by the nation and not the government. So I do not want to return it,”
Many filmmakers including Dibakar Banerjee and Anand Patwardhan have returned their National Award in order to support the protest by FTII students and also against the embarrassing events occurring in the nation like Dadri Incident, Haryana incidents and acts by Shiv Sena as well.
The award returning has become a trend after Authors and Writers started returning their prestigious awards, followed by Art people (Filmmakers) and now Scientists. Nation is witnessing this revolution or say protest against various issues which are affecting India’s serenity and humanity as well.
Vidya Balan refused to join this league as she believes that, the award is bestowed to her for her work by Nation and not by government.
